Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed news agency reported: This is Golani’s first visit to Russia since the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime in December last year, and it is in line with improving bilateral relations and the issue of political and economic cooperation.

The head of the Syrian presidential information department announced that Golani is scheduled to discuss with Putin regional and international issues of common concern and ways to develop cooperation in order to ensure the common interests of the two countries.

Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed further wrote, citing Reuters: Jolani will demand the extradition of “Bashar al-Assad” during his visit to Moscow.

The source also stated that the head of the Syrian interim government will hold talks on the continued presence of the Russian naval base in “Tartus” and the Russian “Hmeimim” air base.

On the other hand, a government source announced that military and economic officials and Foreign Minister Golani will accompany him on this trip.

Jolani will discuss with Putin economic files related to investment, the situation of Russian military bases in Syria, and equipping his new army.

Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed wrote: This is while a few days ago, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the new Syrian authorities are paying great attention to maintaining two Russian military bases in Russia.

On the other hand, Syrian Foreign Minister Asad Al-Shaibani and Syrian Defense Minister Murhaf Abu Qasra recently traveled to Russia and met with their Russian counterparts Sergei Lavrov and Andrei Belousov. A high-ranking Syrian delegation also went to Moscow in early October.
