Jolani’s troops re-enter Sweida’
Noureddine al-Baba, spokesman for the Golani government’s Interior Ministry, stressed that some media outlets and the news channel Hall have published false reports about the entry of internal security forces into Sweida province.
The spokesman for the Golani government’s Interior Ministry added: “We emphasize that no official statement has been issued in this regard, and we categorically deny the veracity of what has been published and hold the media responsible for transmitting false information.”
The official Syrian news agency (SANA) reported that Noureddine al-Baba stressed that the Interior Ministry’s forces are on normal alert and have not yet made any movements or deployments in the governorate.
Earlier, the Golani government’s state television reported, citing sources, that internal security forces are preparing to enter the city of Sweida in order to end clashes between local groups (Druzes) and tribal forces.
Citing a political source, Israeli media reported that Israel has agreed to allow an internal security force (affiliated with al-Jolani) to enter the Sweida province in southern Syria for 48 hours due to what it called ongoing instability in southwestern Syria.
