Jordan’s Foreign Minister’s request to Blinken about Gaza.
In a meeting with his American counterpart, the Jordanian foreign minister stressed the necessity of stopping the war in Gaza and sending humanitarian and medical aid to the people of the Gaza Strip in all areas.
Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safadi hosted his American counterpart Anthony Blinken today (Sunday, January 7) and discussed with him the developments in Gaza and the increasing humanitarian disaster of the current war in the Gaza Strip.
According to this report, in this meeting, the two sides emphasized on the immediate cessation of war, the protection of civilians, and the guarantee of sending sufficient and permanent humanitarian and medical aid to all areas of Gaza.
According to Al-Mayadeen, during this meeting, the Jordanian foreign minister discussed the necessity of stopping Israel’s illegal actions in the West Bank and occupying Jerusalem with his American counterpart, and the two sides discussed several other regional and bilateral issues.
Blinken arrived in Amman on Saturday night after Turkey and Greece and is scheduled to meet King Abdullah II of Jordan and visit one of the World Food Program centers in the country’s capital.
The US Secretary of State, before leaving Greece for Jordan last night, said: “We must ensure that the conflict in Gaza does not expand, especially as it enters the fourth month. “One of the real areas of concern is the border between Israel and Lebanon, and we want to do everything possible to not escalate the situation there.”
As part of his regional trip, he is going to visit Qatar, which acts as a mediator between the Zionist regime and Hamas. Blinken will then go to Abu Dhabi, and on Monday he will travel to Saudi Arabia and finally to the occupied Palestinian territories.
