Joseph Aoun: Israeli attacks are a challenge to all Lebanese
Joseph Aoun continued to condemn the Zionist regime’s aggressive actions against Lebanon, adding: Negotiation is the only option to regain our occupied territory, guarantee the release of prisoners, and achieve a complete Israeli withdrawal. However, this option has only been met by further attacks on Lebanon, in the south and in the Bekaa Valley, and increased tensions.
He stressed: Israel’s failure to respond to repeated calls to stop its attacks confirms that aggression remains the regime’s first choice, and this places the responsibility on the international community to support Lebanon’s position, which calls for security and stability.
Aoun noted that the Lebanese army, in addition to its numerous tasks throughout the country, is fully fulfilling its duties south of the Litani River. Lebanon welcomes any support for the army and the provision of the necessary resources to fully fulfill its role in preserving national sovereignty and security.
According to a report by AFP, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam also met with the German Foreign Minister and discussed with him developments in southern Lebanon and the phase after the completion of the UNIFIL mission.
