PNN – The Lebanese President Joseph Aoun called the Zionist regime’s attacks on Lebanon a challenge for all the people of the country and said that Lebanon is willing to cooperate with Iran based on mutual respect.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing the Lebanese News Agency, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, in a meeting with Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council said that Lebanon is willing to cooperate with Iran within the framework of sovereignty and friendship based on mutual respect.
Claiming that the recent discourse of some Iranian officials towards Lebanon is not helpful, he added: The friendship that we want to establish between Lebanon and Iran should not be through one sect or one section of the Lebanese, but should be with all Lebanese.

Aoun noted that Lebanon is the ultimate homeland of all its inhabitants, whether Christian or Muslim, and the Lebanese government, through its legal and security institutions, is responsible for protecting all Lebanese components.
The Lebanese President stated that his country rejects any foreign interference in its internal affairs from any side, and wants the Lebanese region to remain secure and stable so that the interests of all Lebanese are ensured without discrimination.
Joseph Aoun continued: Everyone paid a heavy price for relying on foreign powers against other Lebanese at home, and the lesson that the Lebanese are learning from this is that no side is allowed to carry weapons and rely on foreign powers, without any exception.
President Aoun explained that the Lebanese government and its armed forces are responsible for the security of all Lebanese without exception.
He added: Any challenge from the Israeli enemy or others is a challenge for all Lebanese, not just for one group of them, and the most important weapon to confront them is the unity of the Lebanese.
