According to Al-Mayadeen, Walid Jumblatt, former head of the Progressive Socialist Druze Party in Lebanon, stressed that the current developments in Sweida, Syria, are the beginning of a long crisis.

He added: The Jabal al-Arab region in Sweida is an integral part of Syria. A ceasefire must be declared in order to start talks in Syria.

Jumblatt emphasized: A fact-finding committee must be formed regarding the developments in Syria and the actions taken against the residents of this region and its tribes.

He also condemned the daily aggression of the Zionist regime against Syria and Lebanon.

The crimes of the terrorist Golani regime in the Druze province of Sweida have once again given the Zionists the necessary excuse to expand their movements in Syria and advance goals such as the division of the country.

In recent days, the Zionist occupiers have carried out numerous airstrikes on areas in southern Syria, and these severe attacks reached Damascus and two sensitive government headquarters, namely the presidential palace and the army headquarters.
