PNN – In an interview, the European Union’s foreign policy official Kaya Callas explained the details of the Israeli sanctions.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, European Union Foreign Policy Chief Kaya Callas announced in an interview with Euronews on Tuesday that he is calling on EU member states to support proposals to suspend the trade section of the cooperation agreement between Brussels and the Zionist occupiers.
The European Commission previously presented a plan for the European Union to reimpose customs duties on trade between the European Union and Tel Aviv in response to the Israeli regime’s continued aggression against Gaza.
In this interview, the EU foreign policy chief confirmed the strategy of suspending trade-related provisions in the cooperation agreement between the Israeli regime and the European Union.

Callas added: We had 42.6 billion euros of trade with Israel in 2024. That’s a significant number, and when it comes to preferential treatment, 37 percent of that trade actually has preferential treatment. So this step will definitely be costly for Israel.
He confirmed that this decision means the reinstatement of customs tariffs on this category of goods.
Kaya Callas added: This must be agreed by a qualified majority of member states, meaning that at least one of the larger countries – Germany or Italy – must support it if the proposal is to be successful.
The European Union announced hours ago that the European Commission will approve new sanctions against the Israeli regime, Wednesday.
In this regard, the European Commission announced that the expansion of the Israeli regime’s operations in Gaza City will cause further destruction and death.
The British Foreign Office also previously stated that the expansion of military operations in Gaza must stop, as it will bring further misery to Gaza residents.
