“Khalil Baraqeeh”: A prisoner whose family did not even recognize him.
According to Al Jazeera, “Khalil Muslim Muhammad Baraqe’ah” is one of the Palestinian prisoners who, despite being sentenced to 20 years in prison for life in the occupied territories in the recent prisoner exchange operation between Palestinian resistance groups and the Zionist regime, managed to escape from the regime’s prisons. He had been in the prisons of the Zionist regime since 2002 and during this time had faced torture, solitary confinement, medical neglect, being denied visits, and other violations.
Biography
Khalil Baraqe’ah was born in 1978 in the Aydeh camp in Bethlehem and began his struggle against the Zionist occupiers from childhood during the Stone Intifada in 1987. He completed his primary education in the schools of An Rawa and then joined the Qalandiya Technical Academy and completed his education up to a diploma in this academy.
He graduated from Al-Quds University virtually in 2023 and received a bachelor’s degree.
Anti-Zionist Activities
Khalil Barakah began his anti-Zionist activities in 1987, when he was only 9 years old, with the start of the Stone Intifada. He joined the voluntary committees of resistance against the occupation and later became a member of Hamas.
