Kim’s mysterious statement follows Seoul’s report on North Korea’s increasing uranium stockpiles

PNN – North Korea’s leader pledged to increase military action and allocate more strategic equipment in response to the increased US military presence in South Korea ahead of the country’s annual grand parade.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Al Jazeera, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un emphasized that in line with the increase in the US military presence in South Korea; Pyongyang’s strategic interests in the region have also increased, and has subsequently allocated special equipment to achieve key goals.

The latest statements, published by North Korea’s Korean Central News Agency, come just days after South Korea claimed that Pyongyang had amassed large amounts of weapons-grade enriched uranium, indicating a significant increase in the country’s stockpile of nuclear materials.

Kim said at a military exhibition event ahead of North Korea’s annual parade: I believe that our enemies should be concerned about the direction in which their security orientation is evolving.

He added that North Korea “will undoubtedly take further military measures to prepare for a response to the increase in US forces.” The North Korean leader did not provide further details.

In recent weeks, Kim has ordered senior North Korean officials to strengthen the country’s “nuclear shield and sword,” insisting that only a “nuclear countermeasure” can guarantee his country’s security.

Kim is set to lead a grand military parade on October 10 to mark the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers’ Party of North Korea. Pyongyang is expected to display its latest weapons and other military equipment at the event.

South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency reported, citing analysts, that Pyongyang may unveil the next-generation Hwasong-20 intercontinental ballistic missile at the parade.
