PNN – National Security Council spokesman and strategic communications coordinator John Kirby said Washington is imposing new sanctions on Moscow and continuing to increase spending on the Russian war machine.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Reuters, Kirby said on Tuesday night, the US will announce a new set of “impactful” export controls and sanctions at a G7 summit in Italy that will target companies and networks that aid Russian war effort.
He added: We plan to continue increasing the costs for the Russian war machine.
In other news, Reuters reported on Wednesday that the US plans to impose new sanctions on the sale of semiconductor chips and other goods to Russia today.

Also, the member states of the Group of Seven and the European Union are considering the use of frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine. This issue is also supposed to be discussed in the meeting of the leaders of the Group of Seven, which will be held from June 13 to 15 in Fasano, Italy.
US President Joe Biden said Sunday that he has reached an agreement with French President Emmanuel Macron to use the proceeds of frozen Russian assets to help Ukraine.
Asked if they had discussed the matter and reached an agreement, Biden replied: Yes, and yes.
Since the beginning of the attack on Ukraine, Western countries have confiscated more than 330 billion dollars of the assets of the Russian Central Bank abroad.
Russia has emphasized that any attempt to confiscate the frozen assets of Russia or its nationals is defined as expropriation and against the European Constitution and international laws, and has threatened to take appropriate measures if the Western countries do this.
