PNN – A Kremlin spokesman says that Russia’s Borostnik nuclear missile tests should in no way affect relations between Moscow and Washington.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing TASS, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov says that Russia’s Borostnik nuclear missile tests should in no way affect relations between Moscow and Washington, which are currently at their lowest level.

Peskov said: There is nothing that could or should further overshadow relations between Moscow and Washington, especially since these relations are currently at their lowest level.

He added: So far, only initial and tentative steps have been taken to bring these relations out of the previous stagnation.

The General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin yesterday that tests of the Borostnik missile at a nuclear facility had been successfully completed. The weapon is capable of flying long distances at low altitudes, which reduces its vulnerability to air defense systems.

Since Donald Trump took office in the United States, Moscow and Washington have been working to normalize bilateral relations. However, Washington has recently taken unfriendly steps, including imposing sanctions on Russia’s oil sector, in an attempt to reach a so-called agreement over the war in Ukraine.

Moscow has stressed that it will not make decisions under pressure and that Washington’s actions will not help normalize relations. Also, these measures will only increase energy prices worldwide, primarily harming American consumers.
