Kremlin warns against White House motives to sell off US energy resources.
In an exclusive interview with the R. B. K. news agency, Dmitry Peskov warned that US President Donald Trump is a businessman and wants to force the whole world to buy American oil and liquefied gas at higher prices, noting that the White House has never hidden its intention to secure the economic interests of the United States.
He added: “The Americans may be able to force the Europeans to do this, and to a large extent they have succeeded. Many European countries have switched to buying liquefied gas at higher prices.”
Noting that European markets are no longer privileged markets for Russia, the Kremlin spokesman stressed that Moscow has successfully redirected the flow of its energy resources to other markets and routes, and despite all the sanctions and external pressure from Western countries, it has managed to maintain its macroeconomic stability and sustainability during the war with Ukraine.
Peskov also said that in response to Trump’s remarks yesterday that Russia was a “paper tiger,” Russia is not a “paper tiger” and is better known in the world by the symbol of a bear, and there is no “paper bear.” Russia is a real bear.
