Pak Sahafat – The Prime Minister of Ukraine claimed that Kyiv will be fully ready for EU membership within the next two years.
According to Pak Sahafat News Agency International Group, despite the statements of Western officials about the difficulty of Ukraine’s EU membership process and the need for extensive reforms, Kiev claims that this position is available.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmihal claimed (Friday) that Kyiv will be fully ready for membership in the European Union within the next two years.
According to “Sputnik” news agency, Shmihal said in an interview about this: “You can be sure that within the next two years we will be fully ready to join the European Union. We expect to have a positive status by October at the latest with an assessment of our progress by the European Commission.”
The Prime Minister of Ukraine also added that the Council of Europe can confidently vote on Ukraine’s membership in this union and decide to start negotiations with Ukraine.
According to Sputnik, Shmihal also said on Tuesday that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has implemented all seven recommendations of the European Commission to start negotiations for membership in this union.
It was at the end of August that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Koleba, said that Kiev wants to start negotiations for EU membership by the end of this year.
Earlier, “Charles Michel”, the president of the European Council, said that the European Union should focus on the expansion of its members as one of its strategic goals in the coming years.
However, former French President Nicolas Sarkozy said that Ukraine has no place in the European Union, stating that Kiev’s role is to act as a bridge between the European Union and Moscow.
