According to the report of Pakistan News Network; The Italian newspaper “La Repubblica” reported that the European Union is considering the possibility of starting bilateral negotiations with Iran.
The newspaper La Repubblica wrote in a report on Saturday: The European Union is exploring the possibility of starting bilateral talks with Tehran, with the main goal being to ensure shipping security in the Strait of Hormuz and address Europe’s energy problems.
According to the publication, the idea has been discussed informally at the level of the European Commission, the leadership of the Council of Europe and the governments of several European countries, and the plan envisages the creation of a direct diplomatic channel between the European Union and Iranian authorities.
The Italian media added: The European Union is considering reaching an agreement with Iran regarding the passage of ships belonging to European countries through the Strait of Hormuz.
However, this initiative faces several serious obstacles, including the European Union’s hostile move in February to list Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a “terrorist organization.”
