Lavrov: America’s green light to Israel to continue killing the people of Gaza/ Russian and Palestinian foreign ministers meeting in New York

PNN – In a speech at the Security Council meeting, the Russian Foreign Minister warned about the environmental disaster in the Gaza Strip, called the forced migration of its residents unacceptable, asked Biden not to delay the creation of the Palestinian state, and condemned the military actions of the United States and its allies in the Middle East.

According to the report of the International group of Pakistan News Network, quoting from “Tass” news agency, Last night, in an open debate at the UN Security Council regarding the deterioration of the situation in the Middle East region, including the Palestinian issue, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov condemned the approach that the United States has made to stop all UN efforts to stop the bloodshed in the Gaza Strip.

During his speech, he said: The tactic of American diplomacy, which vetoes resolutions related to the establishment of a ceasefire or the need to reduce the intensity of conflicts in Gaza, is very worrying. Obviously, this encounter gives Israel the green card to continue the collective punishment of Palestinians.

Lavrov recalled that on the eve of the meeting, the Russian side proposed a draft statement calling for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire, but the United States and its allies blocked the document, thereby confirming once again that saving the lives of Palestinian civilians is not a priority for them. According to him, the inability of the Security Council to take comprehensive measures to resolve the situation in the Middle East has led to the escalation of the current Palestinian conflict throughout the region, which again shows the disastrous participation of the United States and its allies in this situation.

The Russian Foreign Minister warned that their military presence in the region will create new risks for international security.

The Russian Foreign Minister also warned about the environmental situation in the Gaza Strip and said that assessments show that Gaza will never be fit for habitation after the end of the conflict. Referring to the sharp increase in the risk of epidemics and the destruction of Gaza’s sewage system, he added: As a result of the constant bombing by the Israeli side, the soil, underground water and atmosphere of the region have been destroyed to an unprecedented extent with a thick layer of explosive and combustible materials, equipment and ammunition, and contaminated with chemicals.
