The Russian Foreign Minister added: The signing of the statement on resolving the situation in Gaza is a clear example that can also be used as a model for Ukraine. We saw the Financial Times report that the US provided information to Kiev for attacks on Russia and we asked Washington about this. Contacts between Russia and the US are ongoing through various channels and on various issues, and there are no plans for high-level meetings yet.
Sergey Lavrov said: Kellogg (US special envoy) calls for provocative actions and escalation of the conflict in Ukraine. Vitkoff is a reasonable and rational person, and Moscow will be happy if he shows his talents in Ukraine, as he showed in the Middle East. Russia is awaiting a response to its proposals to update the Istanbul Process on Ukraine, but so far there has been complete silence. Moscow has not submitted a request for a meeting with the United States on the dangers of transferring Tomahawk missiles to Kiev.
The Russian official added: Given the progress made at the Alaska summit, Moscow is ready to discuss specific issues with the United States at any time and at different levels. The possible delivery of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine would do great damage to the prospects for normalization of relations between Russia and the United States. Trump’s statements about sending Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine do not affect what was discussed in Alaska. Russia is still waiting for a firm US response to the results of the Trump-Putin talks in Alaska… It is difficult to predict what will happen to the dollar. Trump has not yet taken any steps to restore confidence in the currency during his time in the White House.
