Lavrov, speaking to reporters, said that Trump’s 20-point plan is just a general plan, and added: “This plan, without mentioning the West Bank, focuses mainly on the Gaza Strip, but it is still the most practical and best option in the current situation.”
He also pointed out that Trump’s plan can be acceptable to all countries, and noted: “But most importantly, this plan must be acceptable to the Palestinians.”
Lavrov continued by emphasizing that the main challenge remains ensuring that the fighting in the Gaza Strip does not resume, and noted: “It is very important to carefully examine the details of this plan to prevent the war from returning to this region.”
According to IRNA, the Israeli Channel 12 TV announced an hour ago, quoting an American official, that the war in Gaza has ended.
The Israeli media added that estimates indicate that the prisoner exchange agreement will enter into force after the Israeli cabinet approves it.
The Israeli Channel 12 TV also announced that no ceremony will be held to hand over Israeli prisoners based on the agreement reached to end the war in Gaza.
The American media outlet Axios also reported, citing an American official, that the war in Gaza has ended and the prisoners will be released 72 hours after the agreement is approved by the Israeli cabinet.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, while thanking Donald Trump and his team for returning the Israeli prisoners, announced that a cabinet meeting will be held tomorrow to approve the agreement and return all Israeli prisoners.
The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) issued a statement an hour ago, officially announcing the agreement to end the war in Gaza and the exchange of prisoners.
