Leading Arab World Expert Urges Honesty on Iran.
In an interview with the host of the Israeli network “i24”, Sabbagh, referring to the claim of “Jacques Neriah”, a former advisor to the Prime Minister of the occupation regime, said: “Do not deceive yourself about Iran. There is no doubt that Israel is seeking hegemony from the Persian Gulf to the Mediterranean and does not adhere to any agreement. Israel’s goal is to be the dominant power in the region.”
He added: “This is a truth that Benjamin Netanyahu has spoken about explicitly and has repeatedly spoken about “Greater Israel.”
Sabbagh continued: “What is happening in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip proves two very important truths. First, there is no agreement with Israel and Israel does not respect any agreement, even if it has signed it itself. Therefore, any agreement with Israel only makes sense on paper.”
He also stated: “As long as the equation is like this and America supports Israel, it will interpret the agreements however it wants. America equips Israel in every military operation under the pretext of defending itself. So the situation will remain the same.”
Sabbagh pointed to the second point and said: “The issue is not only Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, but the entire Middle East, because Israel’s strategy is based on seeking dominance throughout the Middle East from the Persian Gulf to the Mediterranean Sea and the Nile River. This is a fact that Netanyahu has referred to under the title of ‘Greater Israel.’”
He noted: “This does not mean that Israeli military equipment must be present everywhere in this land. Dominance can also be exercised through the Arab soldiers themselves. This dominance first begins politically and economically and then acquires a security aspect.”
