PNN – Lebanon’s Prime Minister, by rejecting rumors related to dumping Hezbollah’s weapons into the sea or handing them over to the Israeli regime, emphasized that the government is striving to prevent escalation of tension and ensure the withdrawal of Israeli military personnel.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network citing Sputnik, “Nawaf Salam,” the Prime Minister of Lebanon, on Thursday emphasized that Hezbollah’s weapons must be under the authority of all Lebanese and subject to the government’s decision.
In an interview with LBCI, he rejected rumors related to dumping Hezbollah’s weapons into the sea or handing them over to Israel, stressing that the government is working to prevent escalation of tension and guarantee the withdrawal of Israeli military personnel.
The Lebanese Prime Minister said he does not foresee any danger of a civil war resuming in Lebanon.
Nawaf Salam, stating that Lebanon’s reconstruction requires financial resources, noted that Parliament has approved a $250 million loan from the World Bank, and its disbursement is expected to begin early this year.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to holding parliamentary elections on schedule and continuing reforms.
He confirmed his readiness to assume the post of Prime Minister again if necessary, but added that he is not a “power-hungry individual.”
