Lebanon’s Hezbollah: Diplomacy without power is useless

0oPNN – Lebanon’s Hezbollah has rejected unilateral requests by some governments to move to the second stage of a ceasefire amidst the ongoing aggressions of the Zionist regime, emphasizing that diplomacy without power is useless.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network citing Al-Akhbar newspaper, Ali Fayyad, a member of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc in the Lebanese parliament, stressed that any diplomatic or political effort to achieve national rights will be futile if not based on elements of strength, stability, and steadfastness.

He noted that the government requires a minimum balance that must not be abandoned, as this balance is the foundation for protecting sovereignty and realizing national interests.

Fayyad stated that the enemy’s criminal actions, which have exceeded international decisions, agreements, and laws in Lebanon and across the region, have once again confirmed the legitimacy of the resistance and deepened the need for it. This is because the resistance exercises its natural right to self-defense and to protect its rights in the absence of any alternative guarantees.

He emphasized that the proposed alternatives mean abandoning Lebanon and surrendering to the enemy, leading to a disastrous fate.

This senior Hezbollah member said the request to move to the “second stage” concerning the area north of the Litani River is being made at a time when the enemy continues to occupy parts of the southern borders of the river, prevents the deployment of the Lebanese army, and continues its attacks and assassinations inside Lebanon. This rejected request is for unilateral adherence to Israeli conditions that go beyond Resolution 1701.

Fayyad concluded by stressing that Lebanon’s interests require strengthening internal unity and avoiding discord, as weakening the domestic front benefits the enemy. He called for the integration of national efforts and positions to confront the occupation and achieve Israel’s complete withdrawal, along with other national objectives.
