Liberating the strategic area in Sudan’s border triangle.

Liberating the strategic area in Sudan’s border triangle.

The Rapid Reaction Forces made significant advances in the sub-Saharan region (in Sudan) in March last year and took control of the “Malha” region in North Darfur state. This region was under the control of the army and its allies due to its proximity to the Libyan border and the existence of a supply line to the north and east of Sudan.

“Mani Arku Manawi”, the governor of North Darfur state, said: The army and its allies from the joint forces succeeded in taking control of the strategic area of ”Wadi Atrun”, located in the border triangle of Sudan, Libya and Chad.

He, who oversees the joint forces, wrote in a note on the “X-Twitter” social network: “Our heroes in the armed forces and the joint forces achieved a great victory by liberating the strategic area of Atrun from the control of the Rapid Reaction Forces.”

Manawi added: “We give the residents of Darfur good news that victory is near, and soon we will see victory on all the streets.”

According to the Sudan Tribune newspaper, the operation of the army and its allies in the Sahara region coincides with their other actions in the Kordofan region, the goal of which is to reach North Darfur and end the siege of the city of Fasher (the state capital).
