Libyans’ anger against normalization of relations with Tel Aviv.

Libyans’ anger against normalization of relations with Tel Aviv.

According to Russia Today, the Libyan capital Tripoli witnessed massive demonstrations last night after former Minister Najla Al-Manqoush said that the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government had intervened to hold a meeting between her and former Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen in 2023.

According to the report, residents of the Souq Al-Juma area in Tripoli showed their protest against the process of normalizing relations with the Israeli regime by burning tires and blocking roads.

The protesters called for the dismissal of the Libyan government and emphasized that the country’s law considers contact with any Zionist person a crime.

They asked the Libyan Attorney General to take the necessary measures against the Prime Minister.

Earlier, the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported in 2023 about a secret meeting between Cohen and Manqoush in Italy. At the same time, a wave of protests swept Libya.
