Lieberman: Netanyahu’s goal on the Washington trip is to sabotage the ceasefire agreement.
According to Al Jazeera, Avigdor Lieberman, one of the figures opposing the Israeli Prime Minister, accused Netanyahu in a statement on Tuesday of trying to defeat the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
He said in this regard: Netanyahu’s main goal in his trip to Washington was to thwart the second phase of the prisoner exchange agreement and also to defeat the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
Lieberman further emphasized that the implementation of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement is not a priority for the Israeli Prime Minister and that Netanyahu’s main priority is only the survival of his coalition cabinet.
In this regard, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office issued a statement announcing: After Netanyahu met with Vitkaf, Israel is preparing the conditions to send a delegation to Doha to discuss the technical details of implementing the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office further emphasized that Netanyahu will hold a cabinet meeting after returning from Washington to review the status of implementing the second phase of the ceasefire agreement.
