Lammy told Sky News that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will make a decision on recognizing the state of Palestine later (Sunday): Any move to recognize (Palestine) is because we want to keep the prospects of a two-state solution alive.

Starmer said in July that London would recognize the state of Palestine unless Israel reached a ceasefire agreement with Hamas, allowed more aid into Gaza, made it clear that annexation of the West Bank would not be an option, and committed to a peace process leading to a two-state solution.

Lamy added, pointing out that the Zionist regime has also continued its settlement plan: The reality is that since that statement (Starmer’s statements) in July, given the attack on Qatar, achieving a ceasefire does not seem likely at this point and the prospects are bleak.
