Maariv: Netanyahu’s bullying policies have jeopardized the peace agreement.
In a report published by the Hebrew newspaper Ma’ariv, Israeli political analyst Shlomo Shamir criticized the policies of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, blaming him for Israel’s loss of status among European countries and the failure of the process of normalizing relations with Arab countries.
In this report, he described Netanyahu’s behavior in relations with foreign countries, especially the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf, as well as the reactions of the regime’s ambassadors and senior diplomats at the United Nations, as “bullying behavior.” He wrote that although it does not seem that the European Union sanctions against Israel will be implemented, it must be admitted that the regime’s status among European countries has been damaged in an unprecedented way.
Shamir went on to quote a senior Western diplomat who said: “Currently, the anger of representatives of European countries towards Netanyahu due to the continuation of the devastating war in Gaza is prevalent in the European Union, and it is felt to be more intense and serious than what has been reflected in the media.” He added: “When the war in Gaza ends, Netanyahu should only begin negotiations with the leaders of European countries on the text and content of the Abraham Accords.”
In addition, representatives of the Persian Gulf countries at the United Nations are reporting in private circles on the results of the Arab and Muslim summit held in Doha, with harsh and serious statements about what was said in the statement and interpreted in the media.
According to him, although no practical action was taken against Israel at the Doha summit, diplomats present in New York who are aware of the discussions and results of the summit say that in the talks held behind the scenes by representatives of Arab and Muslim countries, the strongest and most aggressive condemnations against the Israeli regime were expressed.”
