Ma’ariv: The Gaza war deepened the old differences between Netanyahu and Gallant

According to the Pakistan News Network, the difference between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Minister of War Yoaf Gallant has greatly increased, and although this difference has existed for a long time, this media believes that the war against Gaza has deepened it.

According to the Pakistan News Network, this media wrote in a report in its Saturday edition today: The hidden differences between the two sides came to the surface on Saturday and were revealed by Gallant’s opposition to appearing with Netanyahu at a press conference held in Tel Aviv.

Netanyahu also publicly announced that he offered Gallant to hold a joint press conference, but he opposed this and preferred to talk to reporters alone.

According to Maariu, Netanyahu also preferred not to contribute to what Gallant and Benny Gantz, two members of the war cabinet, had described as the great achievement of the war, and consider the return of the hostages from Gaza completely to himself.

This Hebrew-language media, quoting its sources, revealed that Gallant was first called for a meeting, but at the same time, the office of the Minister of War decided to hold a press conference of his own, so a separate invitation was sent to them and the press conference was held.

According to this communicator, Netanyahu did not hold a press conference to answer the journalists’ questions and did not intend to answer difficult questions, rather he sought to give good news and announce after the terrible defeat of October 7.

According to Maariv, the greatest achievement from Netanyahu’s point of view was the release of 110 hostages from Gaza, which is part of the exchange agreement with the Hamas movement. Therefore, Netanyahu preferred no one to be his partner in this great achievement, and even the members of the war cabinet were also involved in it.

At the same time, Netanyahu’s office claims that the invitation to attend this press conference was submitted to Gallant’s office.

Considering the difference between the narratives of the two offices regarding the non-participation of two people in the joint press conference, Maariv interpreted it as an indication of the great gap between Netanyahu and Gallant, a gap that had formed long before October 7 and is widening day by day.
