Maariv: Trump’s intervention led to Iranian unity.
The Israeli newspaper “Ma’ariv” wrote in a report referring to the interventionist statements of the US President about Iran: “US President Donald Trump’s intervention in the protests of the Iranian people was a strategic mistake and in practice has benefited Tehran.”
Referring to the deep nationalism of Iranians, the newspaper emphasized that Trump’s messages have made these protests appear to be the product of US and Israeli policies.
The newspaper also wrote that Iranian society has also accepted the nuclear program as a national movement, and confrontation by foreign countries to hit Iran’s nuclear program will have the opposite result.
The Israeli newspaper “Yediot Aharonot” also stated in a report that although domestic protests have caused unrest in Tehran, these events will not have the capacity to spread and create a serious crisis for Iran.
A senior Israeli security official also revealed that Benjamin Netanyahu is convinced that any direct intervention in the current situation, instead of weakening Iran, will lead to national unity among Iranians around the Zionist threats.
According to IRNA, Zionist sources have warned that any explicit stance by the US or Israel on the Iranian protests could backfire.
They believe that turning the protests into an open confrontation between Iran and a foreign enemy will pave the way for social solidarity in Iran. This internal cohesion is considered the biggest strategic failure for Israel, because external pressure will strengthen Iran’s nationalist base instead of weakening it.
