Macron hasn’t had a conversation with “Putin” for several months’

According to Sputnik, French President Emmanuel Macron has confirmed that he has not had any talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the past few months, but stressed that he will continue to talk with the Russian president.

In this regard, he said: I believe in the power of dialogue and I will continue to talk with Vladimir Putin… There has been no dialogue in the past few months, but I do not rule out a dialogue with Putin about this or that issue, including nuclear power plants or any other issue.

In March, Macron dismissed the idea that relations between him and Putin had cooled, recalling that he had spoken with the Russian president several times since the Ukraine conflict began.

The President of France claims to be ready to talk with the President of Russia, while he announced last week that any agreement to end tensions with Russia should not be based on Russia’s conditions.

He said: “Ukraine should not give in to Russia’s demands to establish lasting peace.” Macron made these statements at the so-called “Ukraine Peace Meeting” in Switzerland.

Macron, however, wants the participation of more countries in the process of trying to end the conflicts with Russia, however, Moscow was not invited to the meeting in Switzerland and the Kremlin also argues that this meeting and peace talks are meaningless.

The French President continued to claim: “We are all committed to creating lasting peace.” “Such a peace cannot include the surrender of Ukraine, here there is an aggressor and a victim.” He added that any agreement to end the conflict must restore Ukraine’s sovereignty and respect “international law.”
