“Mafia”-style diplomacy.

“Mafia”-style diplomacy.

The British publication, referring to Trump’s foreign policy, warned about a new and worrying order, according to which illegal trading on the global stage is the legacy of Trump’s foreign policy, and that he has a dangerous illusion about Gaza and is pursuing mafia-style diplomacy.

According to ISNA, the Guardian, in an article about US President Donald Trump’s foreign policy titled “A new and worrying order is taking shape,” wrote that America’s former allies should not normalize or legitimize Trump’s illegal concept of international trading.

Referring to Trump’s provocative remarks against Gaza and threats to displace Palestinians from their ancestral lands, the Guardian writes: “Nothing about Donald Trump’s idea that Gaza should be under American control is by the accepted rules and customs of international relations. But the current White House administration is averse to traditional methods and aims to fundamentally change the world, making it impossible to return to the pre-Trump order.”

The British publication believes that the ridiculous contradiction of Trump’s proposal to “occupy” Gaza does not diminish its sinister nature. His demand to forcibly relocate 2.2 million Palestinians to neighboring Arab countries is a clear endorsement of a crime – ethnic cleansing.

The Guardian believes: “The idea of turning Gaza into a “Mediterranean resort” after its occupation by the US, while disturbing, is ridiculously far from reality. Trump is treating a war-torn region at the heart of one of the world’s most complex conflicts like an abandoned Manhattan estate. He is playing with the lives of millions of people with the language of a corrupt builder and the methods and ethics of a mafia boss. The inevitable result of a simplistic and ruthless approach to complex international issues is the spread of fear, uncertainty, and instability.”

According to the article, such an approach increases unnecessary instability at a time when a completely different approach is needed to preserve the fragile ceasefire in Gaza. All Middle Eastern governments, except for Benjamin Netanyahu’s ultra-nationalist coalition in the occupied territories, see Trump’s intervention as dangerous and destructive.

The Guardian writes: “This view is also shared among America’s European allies – countries that until two weeks ago considered themselves independent allies of the US, but have now realized that such a concept does not exist in the US president’s mind. He recognizes only three categories: clients, competitors, and enemies. It is possible to move between these categories only by flattery and concessions. But a lasting alliance based on shared interests, legal treaty obligations, and democratic values no longer has a place in the White House.”

The article says this is a major boost to the “geopolitical ambitions” of Russia and China and confirms the oppressive “might is right” approach to international relations.

Referring to the war in Ukraine, the Guardian writes: “This policy legitimizes the kind of imperialist territorial grab that Vladimir Putin is pursuing. For Beijing, a period of American instability and untrustworthiness presents lucrative economic and strategic opportunities. China sees itself as the most predictable superpower.”

According to the Guardian, there is a common justification for his recklessness as a primary negotiating tactic. Trump’s unconventional ideas, such as the US occupation of Gaza, are stylized in this framework as the improvisations of a “dealing” businessman. He is presented as a master of “risk-taking politics” (the policy of going to the brink of war to eliminate an opponent) who uses shock and chaos to confuse opponents and ultimately achieve more reasonable outcomes.
