Mahmoud Abbas’s deputy elected; Netanyahu Congratulates.

According to Arab 48, the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) elected Hussein Al-Sheikh, the secretary of the committee, as the deputy to Mahmoud Abbas, the head of the Palestinian Authority, and the head of the PLO Executive Committee, last night at a meeting of the organization’s Central Council.

The Palestinian Wafa News Agency wrote that Hussein Al-Sheikh’s appointment to the new position came after Mahmoud Abbas introduced him as a candidate for the position.

Hussein Al-Sheikh, in an exaggerated and flattering message, praised Mahmoud Abbas for this action and said: “Mr. President, high in words and deeds, ambitious in times of great sorrow, ambiguities and difficulties, and the captain of the ship of our homeland that is caught in raging waves, you have always made the most compassionate effort to bring this ship to the safe shore that is worthy of the bravery of the great people [of Palestine]; People who desire freedom and want a state that is the result of years of life-threatening sacrifices. You are loyal to the covenant and responsibility towards Palestine and you are the code name of the Arab world and the entire world.”

The announcement of Hussein Al-Sheikh’s appointment as Abu Mazen’s deputy was welcomed by several countries in the region, and the foreign ministries of countries such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Jordan, Turkey, and Egypt congratulated this development and the appointment of the Sheikh to the new position through calls and statements.

“Benjamin Netanyahu”, the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, also congratulated Hussein Al-Sheikh in a telegram and wished him success and happiness in his new position. Hussein Al-Sheikh also has good relations with American officials.
