Majority of Israelis want an end to the Gaza war.

According to Al Jazeera Qatar, the Israeli newspaper Ma’ariv has published the results of a new survey showing that 59 percent of Israelis support ending the war in Gaza and reaching an agreement to release prisoners in exchange for a cessation of hostilities and the withdrawal of Israeli forces.

In contrast, 34 percent want the war to continue and believe that military pressure could lead to the return of the hostages.

Also, 48 percent of respondents believe that the continuation of the war in Gaza has political reasons, while 37 percent believe that the continuation of the war is due to security considerations.

On October 7, 2023  the Israeli regime launched the war against the Gaza Strip with two main goals: to destroy the Hamas movement and return the Zionist prisoners from this region, but it failed to achieve these goals and was forced to reach an agreement with the Hamas movement to exchange prisoners.

On January 19, 2025 based on an agreement between Hamas and the Zionist regime, a ceasefire was established in the Gaza Strip, and a number of prisoners were exchanged. However, the Zionist regime refused to enter into the second phase of the ceasefire negotiations and resumed its military aggression against the Gaza Strip on the morning of Tuesday, 18 Esfand 1403, violating the terms of the ceasefire.
