PNN – Referring to the Trump administration’s military spending, Zohran Mamdani called anti-poverty policies insufficient and called for prioritizing social protection.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Mamdani said in an interview regarding the Iran War: We’re talking about a war that has killed thousands of civilians. We’re spending tens of billions of dollars to kill people, money that could have made life easier for the working class.
He said: The things we are told are unrealistic, they are only a fraction of the cost of this war. It seems we always have money for war but not to feed the poor.
Iran and the United States agreed in the early hours of Wednesday, after 40 days of war, with Pakistan mediating a two-week ceasefire and resuming talks based on Iran’s 10-point proposal.
The ceasefire agreement was approved by the US President and Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.
This ceasefire took effect in all regions, including Lebanon and other places, from 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, Iranian time, and 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, Eastern Time. However, the Israeli regime is violating this ceasefire and is heavily bombing Lebanon.
The Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council announced in its statement that negotiations between the Iranian and American delegations will begin on April 11 in Islamabad.
Iran has allocated two weeks for these negotiations, and this time can be extended by agreement of the parties.
