PNN – John Mearsheimer, a prominent international relations thinker, professor at the University of Chicago, and one of the leading experts in the field of realism in international relations, stated on Friday that Iran, by holding almost all the winning cards, can defeat US President Donald Trump at every step.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Professor John Mearsheimer said in his speech: Iran holds almost all the cards. They are in a very powerful position. By closing the Strait of Hormuz, they could plunge the global economy into crisis.
He added: Their leverage is enormous. They can limit the GCC countries as functional societies.
Mearsheimer said: Trump cannot climb the ladder of escalation. At every rung, Iran can defeat him.
The prominent analyst went on to emphasize that there is no attractive exit option for Trump and that the only way out is to accept defeat.
Stating that Trump is in a state of emergency, he said: We are playing a losing hand. This will be more than just the destruction of a presidency.
Mearsheimer added: He knows this. He threatened total destruction because escalation failed.
