PNN – In a letter on Monday, 60 media and human rights organizations accused the Israeli regime of the “massacre of journalists” in Gaza and asked the European Union to suspend any cooperation agreement with Israel.
According to Pakistan News Network from Barons website, Reporters Without Borders (RSF) and 59 other organizations, in response to the increase in the number of martyred journalists in Gaza and other violations of press freedom since the start of the Israeli (regime) attacks in the Gaza strip by that regime, demand the suspension of the cooperation agreements between the European Union and Israel. These groups announced in a joint statement that the European Union should implement targeted sanctions against Israel in protest of the killing of journalists in Gaza.
According to the French Website Barons, this statement was published before the meeting of the European Union’s foreign ministers, which is scheduled to be held in Brussels on August 29. The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) and Human Rights Watch (HRW) were among the signatories of this statement.

After the massacre of journalists, a request was made to suspend EU agreements with Tel Aviv.
The letter states: Israel’s devastating attack against the Gaza Strip has been the deadliest period for journalists in recent decades. Targeted and indiscriminate killing of journalists is a war crime.
According to this report, EU agreements with non-member countries are treaties that govern bilateral relations, including trade.
Julie Majerczak, head of Reporters Without Borders’ office in Brussels, said Article 2 of the agreement stipulates “respect for human rights and democratic principles”. He added: Israel has clearly violated this principle. The European Union, which is Israel’s leading trading partner, must draw the necessary conclusions from this matter and must do everything to ensure that the (Prime Minister) Netanyahu government stops the massacre of journalists and upholds the right to freedom of speech and the press through media access respects Gaza.
This French media added: More than 130 Palestinian journalists and media activists have been martyred by the Israeli armed forces in Gaza since October 7.
