Mediating countries’ proposed plan for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Al Jazeera revealed details of the plan proposed by the mediators, which was presented on March 27 and approved by Hamas.
Under the proposal, Hamas pledged to release five Israeli prisoners, including Aidan Alexander, within 50 days. In return, 250 Palestinian prisoners, including 150 sentenced to life imprisonment, will be released along with 2,000 prisoners from the Gaza Strip.
The plan also includes commitments to restore the situation to the conditions before March 2, reopen crossings, and implement humanitarian protocols.
Under the proposal, Hamas and the Israeli regime were to provide the mediators with information on the status of living and dead prisoners by the tenth day of the agreement’s implementation.
The mediators also pledged to begin urgent negotiations within 50 days to achieve a permanent ceasefire, a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces, and post-war arrangements.
