PNN – Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Head of the Russian National Security Council, said that the United States and the West have pushed the world towards World War III by waging a proxy war against Russia in Ukraine.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Russian TASS news agency wrote: Medvedev, in a statement on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the signing of the New START treaty by the United States and Russia in Prague, noted that “this treaty has not led to a reduction in the risk of nuclear war.”
The Russian politician added in a statement published on his Telegram channel: The New START Treaty has not reduced the risk of nuclear war because they (the US and its allies) decided at some point that they could officially maintain nuclear parity with Russia while at the same time starting an undeclared war against us using unlimited sanctions and their weapons and experts.

The former Russian president said: The actions of the West have brought the world to the brink of World War III.
He recalled that the administration of former US President Joe Biden had consistently said that “there is no threat of nuclear conflict in the world.”
Medvedev called such claims lies, saying “the nuclear threat is now at the highest level.”
The Russian Prime Minister between 2012 and 2020 noted that the current US administration under Donald Trump, despite unprecedented military spending, acknowledges the existence of a nuclear threat, but the Europeans refuse to acknowledge it. On the contrary, they have begun to undermine their own limited strategic potential.
The New START Treaty between the United States and Russia on measures to further reduce and limit strategic offensive arms was signed in Prague by Medvedev and Barack Obama, then presidents of Russia and the United States.
