Messages from Abu Obeida’s new speech: Narrowing the field for Netanyahu.
Abu Ubaydah, spokesman for the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, delivered a decisive speech on Friday, July 18, that was much longer than his previous speeches and was different from all his previous speeches.
This speech, in terms of its content and harsh tone, was a turning point in the process of conflict with the Zionist occupiers; especially in light of the advanced achievements that the Palestinian resistance has achieved following deadly operations against the Zionist soldiers in recent weeks. If it were not for the complexities of the battlefield, the resistance would have added another military achievement to its record and could have captured many Zionist soldiers again.
In this article, we intend to examine the dimensions and messages of Abu Ubaydah’s recent speech and its impact on the ceasefire negotiations process and the reality on the ground in Gaza.
The first message: Narrowing the playing field for Netanyahu in the face of Zionist public opinion
From the very beginning of his speech, Abu Obeida tried to put the occupation regime in a tight circle and held it fully responsible for the failure of the ceasefire and prisoner exchange negotiations, saying: The occupation regime is the same party that broke the treaties and destroyed the agreement concluded with the resistance.
With these words, Abu Obeida increased the pressure on Netanyahu and his cabinet amid the growing crisis between the families of Zionist prisoners and Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the occupation regime, and once again aroused the anger of Israeli public opinion against the officials of this regime, especially since Netanyahu’s internal coalition is currently experiencing deep divisions and his main allies, Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gwer, are constantly threatening to leave the coalition.
In his speech, Abu Ubaidah showed that he wants a complete cessation of aggression against the people of Gaza, but at the same time he does not surrender to the enemy, and the field performance of the resistance in recent months and weeks destroys the illusion of Netanyahu and his criminal gang, who thought that the resistance in Gaza was nearing its end.
Abu Ubaidah’s speech was a powerful and aggressive speech against the enemy; an enemy that no longer has a specific goal other than to continue killing innocent children and women in Gaza. Abu Ubaidah’s threats to capture several other Zionist soldiers, especially after the recent operations and the direct clash of a resistance fighter with a Zionist soldier and the complete disarmament of this soldier, mean that if the war continues, the Zionists, in addition to the deaths and injuries of their soldiers, must expect to capture more of them.
