The Mexican Foreign Ministry also said that it is closely following South Africa’s complaint against Israel in the International Court of Justice.
A few weeks ago, South Africa filed a petition with this court based in The Hague, demanding to investigate Israel’s accusation of committing genocide in the Gaza war.
The hearings of this court were held last week, during which the South African lawyer accused Israel of attempting genocide in Gaza.

The representative of South Africa stated: “Since 1948, Israel has systematically displaced and dispersed the Palestinian people and deliberately deprived them of their international right to self-determination… We are particularly concerned about Israel’s discriminatory laws and policies.” which seek to apartheid the Palestinian people”.
In its statement on Thursday, Mexico’s Foreign Ministry stated in support of South Africa, “Mexico is confident that these measures can pave the way for an immediate ceasefire and contribute to moving towards lasting peace in the region based on a two-state solution.”
