Michelle Obama believes America is not yet ready for a female president.
“As we saw in the last election, we are unfortunately not ready. That is why I am not running [for president] because you are all lying. You are not ready for a woman to be president,” Michelle Obama said, according to USA Today.
“So don’t waste my time,” she added. “We have a lot of work to do to grow, but unfortunately, there are still a lot of men who feel like they cannot be led by a woman. I think we have a lot of work to do.”
Michelle Obama was at times more popular than her husband, former President Barack Obama, but she has repeatedly stated that she will not run for president.
In 2024, when Democrats were trying to dissuade Joe Biden from running for president again, a poll showed that only Michelle Obama could compete with and defeat Donald Trump.
In recent presidential elections, Democrats nominated Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris as their final presidential candidates, but both were defeated by Trump.
