Mission impossible; US naval coalition against Yemen.
With Washington’s announcement of the formation of a naval coalition against Yemen, the American media discussed the challenges of the navy during the confrontation with Sana’a in the Red Sea and wrote that this “impossible mission” would further show Washington’s weaknesses.

The American magazine Newsweek wrote that Yemen’s increasing attacks in the Red Sea pose a new problem for the US Navy, the military will face difficult choices about how to respond to the waves of attacks.

“Washington must balance between being in different parts of the world and supporting Israel; The American Navy cannot be present everywhere and secure the sea meter by meter,” said the researcher of the International Institute for Strategic Studies, Fabian Hinz, in an interview with Newsweek.

Politico, another American publication, says that the Pentagon is more concerned about the cost of intercepting Yemeni missiles and drones. While the New York Times points to another aspect of this coalition’s weaknesses and describes the absence of important Arab countries as a “significant challenge”.

These analyses were published while US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin went to Tel Aviv three days ago and announced the formation of a regional naval coalition to confront the Yemeni army; A coalition that showed its weakness from the beginning by not accompanying the Arab countries.

“Al-Khalij” news site, announcing the non-joining of several important countries in the region, wrote that “Arabia does not want another confrontation with Yemen, the UAE does not believe in the effectiveness of this coalition, and Egypt does not accept its nature.”

In Tel Aviv, however, the cry of Israel’s fear and concern about the operations in Sana’a is still high in the Hebrew media. Today, Haaretz newspaper wrote in a report that “for two weeks, no container by sea has reached the shores of Israel, and we expect this process to continue for the next four weeks.”
