PNN – The Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman emphasized that Moscow’s proposal regarding Iran’s enriched uranium is still on the table, but the decision on this issue lies exclusively with Tehran and no other party has the right to interfere.

Maria Zakharova announced that Moscow’s proposal to transfer Iranian enriched uranium to Russian soil is still “on the table”, but emphasized that the decision in this regard is solely up to Tehran.

According to the Russian news agency RIA Novosti, he said in this regard, Moscow’s proposal to transfer Iran’s enriched uranium to Russia is still on the table and only Tehran has the right to decide on this matter.

Referring to the upcoming negotiations between Iran and the United States, she expressed hope that these talks could provide a basis for avoiding further escalation of tensions. Zakharova emphasized that Russia is closely following developments related to these negotiations.

Some media sources had previously reported that a meeting between Iranian and American representatives, with the participation of representatives from regional countries, is scheduled to be held in Istanbul. After that, at the request of the Islamic Republic of Iran authorities, the location of the talks was changed to Oman, and reports indicate that these talks are scheduled to be held on Friday of this week. Although some speculation has been raised in the media regarding the possibility of Iran’s enriched uranium being exported from the country, in an interview, Ali Shamkhani, an advisor to the Leader of the Revolution, completely ruled out the possibility of transferring enriched uranium from Iran to abroad, saying that there is no reason for this at all, and that one of the important foundations for understanding is the Leader’s fatwa on the nuclear weapons embargo.
