Moscow: We don’t understand which part of the Golan Heights Israel considers its own!
According to Sputnik, Vasily Nebenzia, Russia’s UN ambassador, says that Moscow is hearing contradictory statements about which part of the Golan Heights the Zionist regime considers part of its inalienable territory.
Nebenzia said in this regard: “We are hearing contradictory messages from the Israeli side. Netanyahu talks about the Golan Heights as an inalienable part of Israel at a press conference! But given their (Israeli) aggression in the buffer zone, we do not know which part of the Golan Heights he considers to be an inalienable part of Israel!
Netanyahu, in a brazen statement on Sunday, claimed that the Golan Heights will remain an inalienable part of Israel. The Israeli Prime Minister also admitted to occupying Syrian territory and said that “Israel has taken over the buffer zone in the Golan and the military forces have been ordered to take whatever action is necessary to “protect Israel’s security.”
The Zionist regime’s aggression is not limited to the Golan, and at the same time as these statements, the Al-Mayadeen network announced that Israeli tanks had passed through the Quneitra province in southern Syria and reached the vicinity of Damascus!
The senior Russian diplomat emphasized that Russia and the United Nations “more or less agree on the need to preserve the territorial integrity of Syria and ensure the safety of civilians, as well as the flow of humanitarian aid to those in need.”
He added that the Security Council’s consultations on Syria were positive. According to Nebenzia, everyone, including the members of the Security Council, were surprised by the developments in Syria. At the same time, he stressed the need to wait, monitor and assess the course of developments in Syria.
Nebenzia added: “We are working and negotiating on preparing a document in the Security Council.” Not today, of course, because no one is ready right now. However, in the coming days, and hopefully very soon, we will see such a document on the situation in Syria.
Elements of the terrorist group “Hayat Tahrir al-Sham” in Syria announced on Sunday, in their first statement on the country’s national television, that they have taken full control of the Syrian capital. They added that all prisoners will be released. The terrorists also called for the protection of the country’s institutions.
The Kremlin announced yesterday that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and members of his family are in Moscow. Assad and his family have been granted asylum on humanitarian grounds.
