Moshe Ya’alon: Aimless war in Gaza has exhausted the army and isolated Israel internationally.

According to the Shahab news agency, Moshe Ya’alon, the former Israeli Minister of War, criticized the critical situation of the army and the policies of the regime’s cabinet in the ongoing war against the Gaza Strip in unprecedented and frank remarks, describing it as costly, fruitless and destructive to the international image of the Israeli regime.

In part of his speech, he said: “Operation Gideon’s Chariots, which was introduced as part of military innovations, is now being ridiculed, which shows the futility and ridiculousness of its use on the battlefield.”

Ya’alon emphasized that the war in Gaza has no clear strategic goal and has continued only to preserve the political coalition of Netanyahu’s cabinet.

He warned that the results of this war have been “catastrophic,” in that “a large number of soldiers have lost their lives and only a very small number of prisoners have been released.”

Referring to the state of the Israeli army, he said: The army has been worn out in this war and, instead of rebuilding its capabilities, has sunk into the quagmire of Gaza; even the regular military forces and reserve forces have lost their trust in their commanders and the principle of war.

Ya’alon also referred to the international consequences of this war and said: The images transmitted from Gaza have turned Israel into a hated global actor even among its allies, and this has aroused feelings of humiliation and isolation.

He continued: Israel is paying a heavy security, economic and political price, in its longest war against an enemy whose only weapon is “Kalashnikovs and slippers.”

Earlier, the Ma’ariv newspaper reported that military sources in the Israeli regime had revealed that the regime’s army is facing serious problems in the efficiency and safety of its military equipment; An issue that has intensified in the shadow of the continuation of the so-called “Iron Swords” war and has endangered the lives of the Zionist soldiers.

According to this report, the commanders of various battalions, brigades and units of the Zionist regime’s army have warned in recent days about the increase in technical problems in tanks, armored personnel carriers known as Nimr and other combat equipment.

According to IRNA, despite the extensive import of armored vehicles from the United States, England and other European countries, the occupying regime is now facing not only a shortage of this equipment, but also a shortage of skilled forces to use these weapons and equipment, because many of its specialists were killed during Operation Storm al-Aqsa.
