Mossad admits to global electronic device bombings.
Former Mossad spy agency chief Yossi Cohen revealed in an interview that Israel has tampered with or bombed electronic equipment in many countries, referring to last year’s pager operation against Lebanese Hezbollah forces.
In the interview, a video of which was recently released, Cohen said that Israel has sent tampered equipment to many countries. When asked by the host of Mini which country he was talking about, he said: “Any country you can think of.”
Cohen also says that he invented the “device tampering method” between 2002 and 2004. Explaining the extent of his method, he said: “We sold them everything.”
On September 17 and 18, 2024, thousands of hand-held pagers and hundreds of walkie-talkies intended for use by Lebanese Hezbollah were simultaneously exploded across Lebanon and Syria in an Israeli attack. The attack killed at least 42 people, including at least 12 civilians, and injured more than 3,000.
Iran called the attacks “Israeli terrorism.” Nasser Kanaani, a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry at the time, called the attack “an example of mass murder” by the “Zionist regime.”
