Mossad is trying to prevent the sale of Japanese fighters to Saudi Arabia

PNN – Mossad has begun its efforts to disrupt the contract to sell advanced Japanese fighter jets to Saudi Arabia, a Hebrew-language media outlet revealed.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Israel Defense news site announced in a report that representatives of Israeli security institutions, including the former deputy head of the Mossad, whose name remains confidential, expressed their concern about Saudi Arabia’s participation in the Japanese fighter development project in a meeting with Japanese officials.

In the continuation of this report, it is stated that, in the shadow of increasing tension between Tel Aviv and Washington, Japanese military and diplomatic officials have begun the process of improving relations with the United States, while the American government does not agree with the Japanese next generation fighter program.

According to experts, in the framework of this project, which is being carried out with the cooperation of Britain and Italy, Japan plans to replace its old fighter fleet with modern fighters, and however, it is facing American concerns regarding the strategic consequences of this work.

According to knowledgeable sources, this concern was one of the reasons that prompted Washington to include the sale of F-35 fighters in its $142 billion contract with Saudi Arabia, which was signed during Donald Trump’s visit to Riyadh.

Along with the United States, Israel also expressed their increasing concern about the possibility of transferring these sixth generation fighters equipped with advanced stealth technologies and ultra-advanced systems to Saudi Arabia and handing them over to the Crown Prince of this country.

For this reason, representatives of Israel’s intelligence agencies arrived in Tokyo. Among this delegation, the resigned deputy head of Mossad, whose name cannot be disclosed, could also be seen.

During this trip, they expressed to their counterparts Tel Aviv’s concern about this matter.
