Mubarak’s son calls Trump’s attack on Venezuela “thuggery and banditry.”
According to the Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper, Alaa Mubarak wrote sarcastically on his personal page on the X social network: “This is America, the protector of peace in the world, the country of freedom and human rights.”
He added: “The history of America’s bullying and changing ruling regimes. History repeats itself. US President Donald Trump, who dreamed of the Nobel Peace Prize, announced the entry of US forces into Venezuelan territory and the kidnapping of the Venezuelan president and his wife.”
Hosni Mubarak’s son emphasized: “A long history of bullying and thuggery. In 1989, the US invaded Panama. Panamanian President Manuel Noriega was arrested and transferred to US territory, imprisoned, and tried.”
He continued: “This bullying and banditry carried out by the US is an emphasis on the complete disregard for the sovereignty of countries, international law, the UN Charter, and international conventions.”
Alaa Mubarak continued: “The Veto Council (Security Council) and the United Nations have become a farce. They are powerless and even protect America, because this country imposes its control over the world by force and seizes its wealth.”
According to IRNA, the United States attacked Venezuela on Saturday morning in an action that has been met with a wave of international reactions, and kidnapped the country’s president.
The Venezuelan government called the action a “military invasion” and, while declaring a state of emergency, called for an immediate meeting of the United Nations Security Council.
At the same time, a number of countries, including some US allies, have cautiously emphasized the need to observe the principles of international law and the UN Charter. Iran, Russia, and several other countries have also condemned Washington’s action and warned of its consequences for regional stability and the international system.
