Mysterious drones disrupt flights at New York International Airport.
According to NBC, in the wake of the mysterious drones flying over the US skies, New York State Governor Katie Hochul issued a statement saying that the recent flights of suspicious drones have disrupted Stewart International Airport and called for federal assistance, stressing that “this has become too much and intolerable.”
She said: that New York’s Stewart International Airport was forced to close the runways for about an hour on Friday night due to drones flying over the country.
US President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday stressed that the federal government is aware of the mysterious drones that have been seen over the country and said that the government should shoot them down.
Trump wrote on his social media account, Truth Social: “Mysterious drones have been seen all over the country. Is it possible that this could happen without our government knowing? I don’t think so! Let the people know right now. Otherwise, shoot them down!!!”
The Biden administration claims it doesn’t know the exact nature of the drones but said Thursday there was no indication they were the work of foreign powers.
John Kirby, a spokesman for the National Security Council, said that federal investigations and a review of images showed that many objects were seen as manned aircraft operating under a license. “There is no evidence at this time that the drones seen pose a threat to national security or the public or are of foreign origin,” he said.
