Negotiations between Israel and the US regarding the attack on Rafah will be held in Washington

PNN – The media announced that the US and Israel are discussing a possible military operation in Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip on April 1 in Washington.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Tass, quoted by CNN, added: The proposal to postpone the previously canceled negotiations to Monday was presented by the Israeli delegation. However, the final date is yet to be confirmed.

Yediot Aharonot reported earlier, citing official sources, that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed the members of the military cabinet about the plans of the Israeli delegation to visit Washington next week.

This newspaper reported last year that at the request of US President Joe Biden, Netanyahu will send Israeli Strategic Planning Minister Ron Dermer and National Security Council Chairman Tzachi Hangabi to Washington to discuss issues related to the expected military operation.

Netanyahu had canceled the Israeli delegation’s visit after Washington failed to veto a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip during Ramadan without the mandatory release of Israeli hostages in Gaza.

Netanyahu said his decision not to send a delegation to the United States to negotiate on Gaza is a signal to Hamas that Israel will not give in to pressure given the UN Security Council’s adoption of a cease-fire resolution.

He said that the US decision encouraged Hamas to take a tough stance [in negotiations] and believe that international pressure will not allow Israel to release the hostages and destroy Hamas.
