Netanyahu did not accept Hamas’ conditions for a ceasefire

PNN – In the initial reaction to the answer given by the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) regarding the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, the office of the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime considered the conditions of this movement “unreasonable” and did not accept them.

According to Pakistan News Network’s report from “Sama” news agency, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed in a statement: Hamas’s new position on the ceasefire talks is still based on “baseless demands”.

Netanyahu’s office claimed that Hamas’s demands are “irrational and unreasonable” and we will inform the war cabinet about this.

At the same time, the families of the Zionist prisoners in the Gaza Strip, who blame the occupying regime’s cabinet for the failure of negotiations until now, demanded that the Tel Aviv authorities agree to the conditions of Hamas and release their children.

They said: We ask Netanyahu and the war cabinet not to reject the prisoner exchange agreement.

Details of Hamas’ proposed response

In this regard, Reuters news agency reported: Hamas’ proposal in the first stage includes the release of female Zionist prisoners, the elderly and the sick in exchange for the release of about 1,000 Palestinian prisoners.

Based on this report, Hamas’ proposal specifies that the final date for the withdrawal of the Zionist regime from the Gaza Strip is after the end of the first phase of the agreement.

Reuters also announced: Hamas’ proposal also includes the release of all prisoners from both sides in the second phase of the prisoner exchange.

Hamas: The purpose of the proposed proposal is to permanently stop the war

“Osame Hamdan”, one of the leaders of the Hamas movement, also said in a speech about this: We presented a proposal whose goal is to permanently stop the aggression against Gaza, return the refugees, provide aid to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, and exchange prisoners.

He added: Israel’s opposition to our proposal means their insistence on continuing criminal aggression against the Palestinian nation.

Hamdan continued: If the American government is serious, it should condemn the aggression and stop supporting the invaders.

He also emphasized that the US President Joe Biden’s government is complicit in spilling the blood of Palestinians.

The Hamas movement had announced: In the framework of pursuing the ceasefire negotiations through our brothers in Egypt and Qatar, to stop the military aggression against the people of Gaza and to provide aid and return of the displaced people to Gaza and the withdrawal of the occupying forces from this barrier, we present our comprehensive view which is based on these principles and foundations and for Agreement is necessary, we submitted to the mediators.

The Hamas movement added that this view includes the exchange of prisoners and that Hamas adheres to the rights and concerns of the Palestinian people.

On October 7, 2023, the Palestinian resistance groups launched the “Al-Aqsa Storm” operation from Gaza against the positions of the Israeli regime, and finally, on November 24, 2023, a four-day temporary ceasefire was established between Israel and Hamas, or the pause for the exchange of prisoners between Hamas and Israel.

This pause in the war continued for seven days, and finally on the morning of Friday, December 1, 2023, the temporary ceasefire ended and the Israeli regime resumed attacks against Gaza. In order to retaliate for the surprise attacks of the Al-Aqsa storm and to compensate for its failure and stop the resistance operations, this regime has closed all the crossings of the Gaza Strip and is bombarding this area.
