Netanyahu: Effort to Hire Family Member.

Israeli news sources indicate public anger in the occupied territories following the behind-the-scenes efforts of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to obtain a senior position for his son, Yair Netanyahu, in the World Zionist Organization. An issue that, according to some observers, even angered and disturbed the Likud party, and many ministers and members of the Knesset who have always supported Netanyahu’s policies, this time remained silent.

The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth wrote that the far-right Minister of Sports, Mickey Zohar, has lobbied the Likud party to appoint Yair Netanyahu to a senior position in the World Zionist Organization.

Meanwhile, one of the Likud ministers described Zohar’s behind-the-scenes efforts to support Netanyahu as a major blow to the Likud party. He said that this is a great embarrassment for the party, a deal designed to obtain a comfortable job for Yair without any qualifications is indefensible.

While Zohar insists on continuing his work and refuses to withdraw Yair’s nomination for the top position in the World Zionist Organization, he said after the incident was revealed: “Even if his father asks me, I will not remove his name.”

However, a source familiar with the matter said that public anger and negative reactions will lead to Yair’s resignation.

The appointment was reportedly made in line with a behind-the-scenes agreement that only Netanyahu and Zohar were aware of.

Other Likud members first learned about it through the media, while some initially thought it was a joke. However, Netanyahu personally supported Zohar’s attempt to appoint Yair as co-chair of the World Likud and gave him the authority to negotiate in internal institutions. So much so that a senior source in these institutions said, “Netanyahu has effectively involved himself in Zohar’s election campaign.”

He added: Netanyahu canceled his plan the day before he met with US President Donald Trump so that he could talk to as many representatives as possible to arrange a job for his son.

According to the Zionist newspaper, even Netanyahu-affiliated media outlets refused to cover the shameful incident.

Some Likud members acknowledged internal corruption within the Likud, saying that Netanyahu’s move shocked everyone and ignited domestic anger.
